DESCRIPTION:Since the last gathering, many more terrible massacres and devastating
forms of oppression have been committed, without a strong enough public
uproar. Yet, also, small but powerful victories have been taken, (like in
Oaxaca), that can be strengthened by our understanding, organizing and
support. There will be much to discuss, plan and share this Friday evening,
Station 40, 3030B 16th St. near Mission.\n\nAs always, we invite those who
are either deeply interested or already participating in communities that
support the Other Campaign, and/ or similar forms of organizing in defense
of human dignity, anti-authority, rebellion and freedom, and for organizing
from below and to the left.\n\nThis Friday, we will hopefully have updates
from the Colectiva Zapatista Ramona, who’s members are currently in an
aid mission to Mexico, from members of the Caracol de la Mission, who are
coordinating a large benefit for Oaxaca, and from Defensa del Vote, who
soon will have a benefit in support of not surrendering to anything less
than a complete recount in Mexico. An invitation has also been extended to
Arab Beyond and others to speak about the struggles in Lebanon, Palestine
and beyond, and why the lack of local public outrage + indignation to the
atrocities that are being committed. Also, a very emotional and personal
report from friends who are currently in an aid and information gathering
delegation in Beirut, Lebanon.\n\nAlso locally, we will learn from the
recent campaigns from Bayview Hunter's Point + Mission Anti-Displacement
Coalitions against racist land grabs from wealthy developers. Also Bay
Area branch members of the IWW, (revolutionary industrial international
union), will present their actions and future plans for helping organize
immigrant workers, and why they present a radical alternative to the
typical middle class sell-out labor organizing. Also, preparations are
underway for a large immigrant presence at the Sept 4th Labor Day
nation-wide, mass marches. And of course, we invite you to bring to the
table anything you are interested in and would like to present. \n\nIn
the past dinners, the charlas start by everyone given ample enough time to
share what they have been participating or interested in, and then it's a
bit of an chaotic open forum where we ask questions, really get to learn
from one another, make connections and hopefully make plan for the
future.\n\nSo if you agree and support this attempt to build local radical
community, from the bottom and left, than it can only get continue if you
actually come, return and bring friends/ comrades, and help spread this
invitation:}\n\nWith your help, preparing dinner begins at 6pm, dinner soon
after,(~7:30 - 8 pm) Charla goes on till however long you wish to stay,
and if you're interested in presenting any music for the dinner, or film
for after the charla, please feel free to do so.\n\nBringing any food and/
or drink to share is greatly appreciated. (Thanx to FNB, we will already
have plenty dessert and bread ;}\n\nCorazon y Coraje\n\n\n
