DESCRIPTION:dear Friends on the Good Cause Trail!\n\nDO YOU WANT TO HAVE THE
OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK DIRECTLY TO THE HORRORS AND LAWLESSNESS OF THE BUSH
REGIME??\n\nIF SO, WE ARE APPEALING TO YOU TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION
NOW!!!\n\nTim Fitzmaurice has sponsored an agenda item for the Santa Cruz
City Council meeting on July 25th, ASKING FOR A MEASURE TO BE PLACED
DIRECTLY ONTO THE SANTA CRUZ CITY BALLOT IN NOVEMBER, calling for the
impeachment of George Bush and Richard Cheney - the exact language is
below*.\n\nIT IS NOT AT ALL CLEAR, AT THIS TIME, THAT WE HAVE THE VOTES TO
MAKE THIS HAPPEN. The vote of the individual voter is the most essential
building block of democracy, and we are asking to have that affirmed and
used with regard to Bush and Cheney now, right here at home!\n\nwhat you
can do to help: \n\n1) come to the City Council meeting next Tuesday July
25th to show you care about this - we will have a PINK RALLY at 3PM, and
then go into council chambers for the hearing - the item will be heard
between 3-5:30 PM \n\n2) as an individual, and as a group if you are part
of one, send an email to these addresses, asking and encouraging the City
Council to support item #35 on July 25th - sample email
 below**:\n\ncitycouncil@ci.santa-cruz.ca.us,lcook@ci.santa-cruz.ca.us,
cmathews@ci.santa-cruz.ca.us (cynthia mathews), emily reilly ,

coonerty \n \n\n**"I (we) respectfully request that the Santa Cruz City
Council, at your meeting on July 25th, place on the November ballot a
measure allowing the voters of Santa Cruz to speak directly to the call for
the Impeachment of President George Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney.
\n\nThe high crimes, misdemeanors, and felonies they have committed are
numerous, and the results of those crimes have been egregious,
catastrophic, and a national shame. Since they give no indication of
changing their course or their behavior, it is intolerable to allow this to
go on for two more years.\n\nPlease give the voters the chance to exercise
their most powerful and essential democratic voice - to speak directly to
this issue at the ballot box in November!. I (we) urge you to support item
#35, and I (we) want to thank Councilmember Tim Fitzmaurice for having
brought this before the public!"\n\nsigned, your group, or you!**\n\nbe
creative - this is just a sample!!\n\nIt truly is important that they
receive emails both from groups, and from individuals - the emails are
printed out and then go into the agenda packet, so they carry lots of
weight!!!!!!!!\n\nIt truly is important that we show up if we can, from
3-5PM.\n\nFor folks without email access, they can call 420-5017 and leave
a message for all council members.\n\nAnd broadcast this email
widely!!!!!\n\nPLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO DO THIS!!\n\npeace now!\nsherry,
louis, and maureen\non behalf of COIN!\n\n*proposed ballot measure (yes or
no) will read:\nShould the Santa Cruz City Council, on behalf of itself and
the people of the City of Santa Cruz, adopt a Resolution calling upon the
United States House of Representatives to initiate proceedings for the
impeachment and removal from office of President George W. Bush and Vice
President Richard B. Cheney and further calling upon the California State
Legislature to adopt a similar Resolution?\n\nFiscal Implications:
 Minimal\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2006/07/25/18291328.php
