DESCRIPTION: The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors just unanimously approved an 
 ordinance that institues a precautionary ban on growing 
 genetically-modified crops in Santa Cruz County until the state institutes 
 regulations that meet five minimum requirements. Now the state is moving 
 forward with a bill to preempt local control of genetically-modified crops 
 without instituting any regulatory oversight. Join us for a trip to 
 Sacramento where we will lobby the Assembly Agriculture Committee as they 
 hold a public hearing on this bill. The grange will provide free 
 transportation to anyone who want to join us. Meet at the grange at 8 AM.
