DESCRIPTION:Wonder what Jewish tradition says on hot topics in the news? Want to hear
from activists, and ask questions that are on your mind? Interested in
thinking and talking with others about how to respond to social problems?
\n\nJGate, American Jewish World Service, and Progressive Jewish Alliance
have started a new salon series to ask, argue, and act on hot topics of the
day. All are welcome, Jewish or not! \n\nOur first salon is on immigration.
Please join us! If you have ideas of other issues we should discuss in
future salons, email or call to let us know your suggestions. \n\nWhat`s a
Jew to Do . . . About Immigration? \nJoin us for an evening of questions,
answers, discussion, and thought with: \n\n* Robert Rubin, Legal Director
with the Lawyer`s Committee for Civil Rights, \n* Rabbi Bridget Wynne,
Rabbinic Director of JGate, \n* Nelly Reyes, immigrant family advocate in
San Francisco since 1991. \n\nWe'll explore Jewish perspectives on
immigration, the debates about current immigration policy, and issues
facing people in the developing world that may influence their decision to
come to the United States to live and/or work. \n\nLight refreshments
provided. Space is limited, so RSVP today! \n
