DESCRIPTION:Saturday, April 12, 2003 \n10 am - 1 pm \n and  \nGardeners over the 
 millennia have noted that certain plants thrive alongside certain other 
 plants and that some plants help keep pests away. Learn how to use 
 companion planting techniques to keep your vegetables happy. Learn about 
 plants that attract beneficial insects that will pollinate and keep pests 
 away, and learn about plant guilds and the importance of polycultures in 
 keeping your garden healthy. This class will use permaculture principles 
 and will emphasize growing vegetables in the East Bay microclimates. Taught 
 by Christopher Shein, who runs Wildheart Gardens, an edible, native, 
 medicinal and other useful plant permaculture nursery, design and 
 landscaping business in Oakland. He teaches at Merritt College, and helps 
 run the Bay Area Seed Interchange Library and SPACE, as well as other urban
