 Sunday, February 16, in San Francisco, activists can use all the 
 encouragement they can get!  A lifelong activist, Penny will inspire us 
 with the successes of the progressive movement over her lifetime.  In the 
 1960s she witnessed the destruction and/or cooptation of many important 
 radical social innovations:  free schooling for youngsters and teenagers, 
 free breakfasts, free clinics.  In spite of the devastations that ended 
 social rejuvenations such as these of the 1960s, she has a world of hope to 
 give us!  Because she has kept track of free-spirited people formed by 
 radical activism, she’s in a position to know and share the beautiful 
 impact of their liberating work.\n\n
