DESCRIPTION:Free Video Screening Jan. 29, 2003  Wed., 7 pm from Librarians for 
 Intellectual Freedom\n     (video about 1 hr, followed by discussion with 
 special guests Leuren Moret and Fusako de Angelis.  Light refreshments 
 included.)\n     "The Invisible War:  Depleted Uranium and the Politics of 
 Radiation"  (c2001).  French filmmaker, Michael Meissonier documents the 
 long-term effects of depleted uranium on the civilian population of Iraq 
 and on the US veterans of the Gulf War.  Depleted uranium was used 
 extensively by the US military in weapons such as bullets, tank shells and 
 bombs during the Gulf War of 1990.  Interviews with veterans and scientists 
 help explain why so many vets, their spouses and their children suffer from 
 illnesses and deformities.  The video will be presented by Leuren Moret, 
 scientist, enviornmentalist, and past president of the Association for 
 Women Geoscientists.  Also attending will be Fusako de Angelis of "Save the 
 War Chldren" (http://www.savewarchildren.org ) a group which organizes 
 exhibits of Takahashi Morizumi's "A Different Nuclear War: Children of the 
 Gulf War" which is currently touring the US.\n     At Richmond Library's
