 Change       Children of NAFTA     Two nights exploring the issues/causes 
 of immigration       Friday, May 19 at 7:00 pm (co-sponsored by Reel Works) 
  Watsonville United Presbyterian church at 123 Beach Street, Watsonville 
 (Enter at the parking lot in back of the Cabrillo lot, across from the 
 library)      Two short films on the immigration experience, followed by 
 personal experiences shared by immigrants to Watsonville.       New World 
 Border (36 minutes)  The situation on the US/Mexico border and how workers 
 are affected by the global economy       Sin Cara, Sin Voz (10 Minutes)  
 Examines people's experiences crossing the Tijuana/California Border, both 
 coming and going to Mexico       We invite the immigrants that make up the 
 community of Pajaro Valley to share your immigration experiences, whatever 
 country you are from. Only by listening to each  other can we increase our 
 understanding and know how to support each other.    Friday June 23 at 7:00 
 pm  David Bacon, author of "Children of NAFTA"  Place to be announced - 
 watch for it.  6:30 potluck, everyone welcome            As Watsonville 
 goes, so goes California -- and beyond.       Our town is a draw for 
 immigrants,known in Mexico as offering work in the fields. Primarily an 
 agricultural town that is 85% Latino, we struggle with all the issues of 
 legal and illegal immigration: human rights, health, welfare, labor, 
 racism, water, pesticide use, education, sustainable living, housing, 
 transportation, cost of living, etc.  WILPF/LIMPAL will present events each 
 month that are designed to spark awareness and promote ways to take action 
 on issues that are at the heart of our town, our homes, and our families.
