DESCRIPTION:"THE TAKE" by Naomi Klein. What do we want? Democratic, collective
workplaces, as in Argentina! Plus another documentary, on PATRICIA
ISASA's prosecution of her torturers. Discussion follows BFUU's Social
Justice Committee's monthly Conscientious Projector films. Occupy.
Resist. Produce. See These Films. Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian
Universalists' Hall 1924 Cedar St. at Bonita Berkeley 94709 $10
donation wheelchair access Are you ready to Fire the Boss?
Argentinian workers took over bankrupt workplaces there and are running
them democratically. A political thriller, "The Take" is one answer to
the question posed by critics and supporters of radical movements: "We
know what you’re against, but what are you for?” It’s about sharing
tactics. Some in Argentina’s movement of recovered companies call it
“Zapatismo for the cities”. Also screening a short film on the
amazing Argentinian, PATRICIA ISASA, now an architect who got her
torturers put in jail. She was arrested and jailed for 2 and a half years
 - raped and tortured at age 16 for being an honor student. Those
around her were killed and dropped into the sea. She has persisted now
under a better government in Argentina. http://www.thetake.org/ \n
