Wells Fargo allows ID theft
Reported ID theft of $500 from checking account at Wells Fargo 1//2004 not investigated. May 3, 2005 a thief charged $1,580 to the same account overdrawing the account by $550. This was the rent money of two disabled people already under severe stress. One has AIDS and is terminallyill, the other a disabled 57 year old woman.....

I seemed to recall reading a nearly identical article in the SF Weekly when I was visiting San Francisco last winter....
