Delta Smelt on Brink of Extinction: Call the Governor Monday morning!
This is an urgent action alert from Restore the Delta (www.restorethedelta.org), California Sportfishing Protection Alliance and the Planning and Conservation League about the dire state of the Delta Smelt and other Delta fish.
If the Delta smelt, an indicator species, goes extinct, spring run chinook salmon, winter run chinook, San Joaquin fall chinook, steelhead, striped bass, longfin smelt are expected to follow them over the abyss....

Yesterday NOAA reported that the global mean
temperature for April ranked as the 3rd warmest
in recorded history. This is in the trend for the
past 11 years.
March was the fifth warmest on record.
Dec. to Feb. was the warmest on record.
2006 was the warmest year on record.
2005 tied for the warmest year on record.
10 of the 11 warmest years on record have
