HOPE Sues CDFA to Halt Aerial Spraying of Pesticide on Peninsula Cities
Helping Our Peninsula's Environment (HOPE) sued the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) because they violated California's Environmental Quality Act. CDFA refused to prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) claiming they are exempt because it is an emergency. CDFA plans to aerially re-spray our Monterey Peninsula with Checkmate pesticides starting Oct 9th....

Toxic Algae from Warren Buffett's PacifiCorp Dams Harms Klamath River
Public Warnings will be posted along the length of the Klamath River as toxic algae from the PacifiCorp reservoirs, owned by Billionaire Warren Buffett, washes down the river. Tribal officials contend that it is safe to eat fish from the Klamath, but it is recommended that no fish organs be consumed and that all fillets are rinsed with drinking water.

Arctic sea ice reaches record minimum
Tuesday, September 25, 2007 :On September 16, the Arctic sea reached its minimum extent for 2007 at 4.13 million square kilometers, breaking the record set on September 21, 2005 of 5.32 million square kilometers. The difference between the previous record and the present one, 1.19 million square kilometers, represents roughly the same area as Texas and California combined....
