Walden: Earth Day 2008 Project
"Walden: The Ballad of Thoreau" is an educational performance play about the final two days Henry David Thoreau spent in his cabin before leaving Walden Pond. On EARTH DAY 2007 over 4,000 colleges, schools, home schools and community theaters in nine nations performed the play in celebration of Thoreau, his writings about nature, and our earth.

Arctic Ice Shrinking AND Thinning - Reports
A research team from the National Snow and Ice
Data Center, part of the University of Colorado at
Boulder published their report of the annual 'Arctic
Ice Minimum' last week which tells the extent of
the summer melting. It broke the previous record
set in '05, but it did so by a huge margin. The area
that melted this year is 26% more than the '05
record....

Save the Trees Sit In - Direct Action
Healthy beautiful pine trees are being cut down in the Presidio without public process or resident imput. Petitions asking for a halt to the project have been submitted to the Presidio Trust who are essentially ignoring the residents. We need help to delay the cutting of the trees in order to present our case at a community meeting (which we have so far been denied). We have lost trees already and 2 more are slated to be destroyed Tuesday October 2nd 2007. Please get involved and help us ...
