7/26 Letter from Daniel McGowan
I'm pretty convinced at this point, nearly 20 months after my arrest, that I am incredibly lucky to have the best support network I have ever seen, the aptly named Family and Friends of Daniel McGowan. No offense is meant to any other defendant (or prisoner) support group, but I've only experienced the love and support of my crew. That intense support - moral, legal, financial and otherwise - has made all the difference to me and it's why I write today with acceptance of my current situation ...

Mumia Abu Jamal: Jammiing Janet Africa?: The Latest On A MOVE Woman
The 1977-78 police barricade and attack on the MOVE organization under Mayor Frank Rizzo was blatant repression. That police attack had followed earlier murders by the Philadelphia police of MOVE members and followed a long starvation blockade by the Philadelphia Police against the MOVE headquarters. In the police attack two MOVE members were shot, nine MOVE members were framed by the Philadelphia Police, MOVE children were stolen, and, as film footage shows, Delbert Africa was kicked and sto...

MacLaren Hall Survivors Weigh In On Its Future
We, the actual survivors of MacLaren Hall's horror *know* that the buildings and land at MacLaren Hall are haunted by brutalized children's souls, every day and night. MacLaren Hall was a battle zone for thousands of children who survived and still remember what happened there. Even as adults, many of us are still haunted by traumatic nightmares of the memory of children screaming in terror or grief as we cower in fear. To speak out loud of our experiences is devastating for many of us. We st...

The Fourth is Anti-Imperialist Day
"I spent thirty-three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle-man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism." U.S. Marine Brig. Gen. Smedley Butler...

Beyond Rightist Lies, The Real Legacy of Che Guevara
While rightists claim that Che killed peasants, the truth is he didn’t, he doctored them, and when he decided that wasn’t enough, he fought along side them to better their conditions. In contrast the US government has murdered millions of peasants through puppet dictatorships, and additional millions murdered directly by the US government in Korea and Vietnam....
