International Red Cross suspends activity in Gaza over security situation
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Monday suspended all its field operations in the Gaza Strip in protest of the deterioration in security.
The ICRC closed its offices in Khan Yunis indefinitely Monday, after gunmen fired dozens of bullets at them. A number of United Nations aid people have been abducted in the Gaza Strip in recent days.

Israeli army looking for nine armed deserters who may attack Arab citizens
Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz disclosed Monday that the army is "doing its best" to locate nine deserter soldiers who are still in possession of their weapons. According to Haaretz, Mofaz said that hundreds of troops have deserted the Israeli army but only the nine still have their weapons....

The strengthening of Israeli settlements elsewhere understandably dampen the enthusiasm and raise suspicions.
