The Bay Area Coalition to Fight the Minutemen is mobilizing an action to oppose the Minutemen Project's rally to gather public support for their attempts to harass poor, undocumented border-crossers and to announce their support of a new initiative that would establish a state
border police in addition to the existing federal border patrol. This rally will take place in Sacramento on the Capitol steps on October 29th from 10am to 12:30pm....

Gay Activists Fear Homophobia Behind 2 Arson Attacks in Fresno
Fires in two gay nightclubs in Fresno may have been attacks on the LGBT community California's largest gay rights group says.
The most recent fire occurred at The Dance, formerly the Fresno Express, on N. Maroa. The club had been closed for several months but the blaze caused $20,000 damage.
On Sept. 26 fir broke out at the site of North Tower Circle, a few blocks away. That fire resulted in damage estimated at $375,000.
Both fires are being probed by arson investigators....
