Sacramento progressives confirmed that “peace takes courage” by holding another anti-war demonstration at 16th and Broadway. Over three hours starting at 5:00 pm, about 150 people dedicated to the anti-war/anti-Bush regime cause rejected pressure to boycott the demonstration because the “wrong people” were sponsoring it....

Demonstrators in Fresno today (June 11, 2006) called for Bush’s impeachment. The demonstration was held on Blackstone Avenue, in front of River Park, which is in North Fresno. Protestors received a significant number of friendly honks as they stood on both sides of the street. Literature was handed to motorists who were stopped at the red light and petitions were signed to impeach Bush. Below are photos from the event....

Sacramento County's jail has been notorious for brutality over the years, but an incident took place on December 1, 2005, led to riot cops requesting inmates to get on the floor in their cells after toliets were flooded inside the jail. Before even finding out if the inmates complied, the storm troopers launched flashbangs inside the cells and extracted the prisoners. One of the inmates suffered burns to his crotch. Others got a nice ass whooping....
