Hearing brings out Measure EE supporters
On Wednesday, Oct. 26, Oakland tenants did not let a cool, wet, rainy day keep them from showing up at the Alameda County Superior Court in support of Oakland’s Just Cause eviction protections known as Measure EE. The voter approved measure went into effect in December 2002. Since its introduction, Measure EE has saved thousands of people in Oakland from “no cause” evictions, which, when they were legal, threw thousands of tenants out of their homes each year for no reason at all....
