In support of their strategy to remind the public and government representatives to prioritize affordable, safe and systemic solutions to the climate crisis, the Green Guerrillas Against Greenwash will make public comment about PG&E’s rate hike at the CPUC’s meeting on March 15, 2007. Hunters Point Naval Shipyard is not the Presidio of San Francisco. The Navy will not consider any early transfer especially with very serious pollution issues found on Parcel B with methane gas communicating over a very large area. The Navy bears liability and will not transfer large tracts of land without some major elements linked to liability in place. The SF City and County has very poor standing in this region....

textLennar Corp. defies reason and logic and continues to pollute the environment by Francisco Da Costa
It has been over 10 months now that some of us have gone before every enforcing agency to force Lennar Corp. to follow mandated rules and regulations. Again and again Lennar Corp. defies all norms and continues to pollute the land, the water, and the air with the most harmful pollutants. The City and County has the Precautionary Principle but has NOT enforced it linked to Lennar Corp. and Parcel A at Hunters Point Naval Ship Yard in San Francisco....

textS.F. Gets Second Chance to Cut Down on Plastic Bags by Ania Moniuszko, Beyond Chron (reposted)
Two years ago, San Francisco had a chance to significantly impact the amount of garbage we produce while drastically reducing the costs of recycling and garbage disposal – by imposing a 17-cent fee on each plastic bag distributed at large grocery stores. The legislation also would have improved the cleanliness of our city and reduced the pollution in our bay....

textSan Fracisco Peaks - victory for the First People from Ninth Circuit Appeals Court by Francisco Da Costa
I received an e-mail from the lead attorney Mr.Shanker that the tribes linked to the San Francisco Peaks, who opposed the desecration of the peaks by some entities - that wanted to use treated sewage to create snow so that they could defile and ski on the San Francisco Peaks, Sacred Sites and Slopes were defeated. This is a Big Victory in recent times in favor of Mother Earth, the First People, and good children, men, and women. Aho....

textGlobal Warming, Climate Change and the Bay Area by Francisco Da Costa
Global warming and Climate Change has been the talk of the town in the Bay Area. After many years - many local, State and Federal Agencies are taking steps to curtail those elements that adversely impact thousands. Particulates and Green Gases are released by human beings because humans think they have control of everything. It is very easy to destroy - very difficult to create a pristine situation after it has been polluted....

textJudi Bari, Ten Years Gone: Her Work and Warnings Prove True by Counterpunch (reposted)
This week marks the 10th anniversary of the day Judi Bari died on March 2nd in 1997 from cancer. On May 24, 1990, Judi was severely injured by a motion-triggered pipe bomb which exploded on the floor directly under the driver's seat of her car as she and fellow Earth Firster Darryl Cherney traveled through Oakland, California, on an organizing tour for Redwood Summer, a campaign of nonviolent protests focused on saving old growth redwood forests in northern California. I first met Judi in San...

textDiez años sin Judi by Jorge Tadeo
