College outreach imperiled : Budget ax may hit programs helping disadvantaged students
Midyear cuts already have chopped millions of dollars from the outreach programs, and additional cuts set for next year would eliminate them altogether. That would leave about 750,000 students statewide without the extra academic help and counseling they need to navigate the path to college...
