On July 21, over 300 members of 50 Indian Tribes, commercial fishermen, immigrant seafood industry workers, conservationists, recreational anglers, seaweed harvesters, environmental justice advocates and community members peacefully took over a MLPA Blue Ribbon Task Force meeting in Fort Bragg to protest the violation of Tribal rights and corporate greenwashing that has occurred under the controversial initiative....

The SF Redevelopment Agency (SFRA) was NEVER invited into the Bayview Hunters Point. Never, ever. Over the years the SF Redevelopment Agency has raped the Bayview Hunters Point again and again. This is not the first time the SFRA has come uninvited to the Bayview Hunters Point - but, the fifth. This last time without any meaningful discussion, no minutes - a large area was expanded to a Survey Area and then just like that into a Project Area....

Mercy Housing to build a nine story, 85 foot high building where once stood the Hugo Hotel
The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency bought the once blighted Hugo Hotel on Sixth Street and Howard in San Francisco, propped Mercy Housing to be the lead developer. Mercy Housing was chosen amongst five other bidders by mostly SFRA agency staff on the selection committee. The 85 foot building aims to embrace the community, building so called affordable housing.
