Ari Gets Laughed Out of the White House Briefing Room
I heard this replayed on NPR. I remembered it slightly differently than this report. According to my recollection, he was responding to the implication that we're 'buying' the complicity of other nations, with something about the outrageousness of such a statement because 'look what you're saying about those nations,' that they are able to be bought,' and then everyone laughed. My impression was also that he might have been trying to make a joke. Who can tell with this Orwellian admin?? ...

Wounded Palestinian teen shackled to her Israeli bed
"It is unreasonable to think that a 15-year-old girl, who was hit in the kidney, had part of her intestine surgically removed, is attached to an intravenous solution, and two bullets are still in her body, will escape from the hospital by overcoming the IDF guards - or that she poses any danger to the doctors or the other patients," wrote Litvia....

British Consulate Anti-War PrMourning Iraqi mothers deliver dead babies to British consul
This Friday at 12 noon at the British Consulate (1 Sansome at Market) in San Francsico, the Mourning Mothers, seven figures wearing haunting giant masks and carrying limp, blood and dirt-stained rag dolls that suggest dead children, will deliver a powerful message to the British government, chillingly depicting the human costs of war. In mute eloquence, the Mothers plan to unfurl a giant British flag. Then, to ritual drum beats, the mothers will wrap their dead children in the flag and presen...

Mr Rogers has died
Wow, so sad. He was such a gentle person. I remember when he gave a speech for an award he'd won he asked for a moment of silence about something, and it really surprised me, as the silence went on and on on corporate TV where 1 minute is millions, that he did that, and that they allowed him to....

Chronicle supports its anti-affirmative action readership - no counter discussion
They could argue that they were just covering facts of these demonstrations, but I noticed that virtually no discussion about the reasons for affirmative action were even included, only reasons why it's 'wrong,' according to some students. And the affirmative action supporters only indicate that all should be treated equally regardless of ability to pay, which also doesn't address any issues except financial. Didn't mention that Connerly tricked his workers, and many others, on the signatur...
