No War No Warming Protest at Richmond Chevron Refinery (video/quicktime 50.3MB)
Hundreds of people protested in Richmond on March 15th, 2008, to demand that Chevron stop stealing oil around the world while polluting our communities. The actions were in solidarity with the peoples, plants and animals of Ecuador, Nigeria, Burma, Iraq, Alberta and every other community exploited and poisoned by Chevron (Texaco, Unocal, etc!)...

At the state level, Proposition 98 would abolish rent control – while Proposition 99 would reform eminent domain. Attorney General Lets Down 14 Million Tenants: Refuses to Include “Rent Control” in Title of Prop 98
Monday, March 10, 2008 : Today, Proposition 98 will be sent to the printer with a ballot title that omits any reference to the fact that Proposition 98 prohibits rent control in California. Although Attorney General Jerry Brown acknowledges that banning rent control is a key feature of Prop. 98, the AG refuses to put the words “rent control” in the title of the ballot measure, a decision that has prompted outrage among California tenant advocates....

Police in California report that an officer accidentally crossed the median and killed 2 cyclists Sunday March 9, 2008. An initial news report stating the "The group collided with the deputy's car" has been corrected. The news media are not asking reporting if the officer was given a medical/blood test....
