The Labor Council of San Francisco has sold out on standards and made a pact with the devil itself. Add to ACORN, Local Union 22, the Plumbers Union Local 38, the BVHP Project Area Committee, and the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Shipyard - and you could not have gathered a bunch of worse culprits - all with a dubious history, less integrity, and totally out of sync with San Franciscans and decent folks that want to do the right thing with Affordable Housing....

A brush fire charred a low lying grassy area in Golden Gate Park near the Polo Field this afternoon. A number of trees caught fire as well. Initially firefighters were hampered by lack of water, until they drew it from nearby Metson Lake....

On May 13th, 2008, a huge mob of cyclists rolled peacefully through the streets of Santa Cruz after a 6pm convergence at the Clock Tower. A summary judgment was issued on May 12, 2008 in the lawsuit by homeless people against the City of Fresno. The statement below is from the American Civil Liberties Union and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, two of the law firms representing the plaintiffs in this case. We cannot be talking about Solar Farms on the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard without mitigation and abatement measures in place.
