Live Streamers Make Great Informants - by WeCopwatch
There are many ways to effectively document the movement while protecting the space, its movements and people’s privacy. Live Streaming is generally NOT one of them. A common issue with Streamers is their display of entitlement, often citing the value of bringing the movement to the people. But Streamers have a hard time admitting that the police find their work more valuable then demonstrators.

Is KPFA now Irrelevant ? - by thomas payne
As riots erupt across the nation and in Berkeley the home of KPFA and is covered by every news outlet including MSNBC, CNN and the rest of the web but not on KPFA we need to ask is KPFA irrelevant ? KPFA seems unable to cover breaking news or be a station that truly represents our community , and instead seems more interested in creating the illusion of being a community radio station by hiring a new marketing service to sell the concept of community and authenticity. Where was KPFA when ...

Ferguson Photos By Jessie S.with Interview, both rejected by Slingshot - by Jessie S. and Darin
With some resistance from the Slingshot collective, [by some I mean normative,] the interview was seemingly accepted by the collective, yet Jessie S. was essentially rejected from a Slingshot collective meeting. I felt that some discrimination had occured, [Slingshot is horribly biased and secular, I wasn't sure at the time if this was prejudice.] This photography rejection was racist in nature. In the past myself and many others have been snubbed by Slingshot, all kinds of prejudiced feeling...

Peace Activists 'Banned for Life' from Bookshop Santa Cruz for Protesting Leon Panetta - by Alex Darocy
On November 10, peace activists in Santa Cruz protested a book signing appearance by Leon Panetta, the one-time Secretary of Defense and CIA Director. Panetta is currently on a book tour promoting the release of "Worthy Fights: A Memoir of Leadership in War and Peace." Bookshop Santa Cruz hosted the event, which was held in the sanctuary at Peace United Church of Christ, with a crowd of hundreds in attendance. Initially, the book store and the church both attempted, with what little means the...

Hezbollah & the Battle Against ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra in Lebanon (Censored on Facebook) - by Steven Argue
I posted the following on Facebook, but it has been completely deleted by the Facebook staff almost everywhere it was posted and shared. Elsewhere on Facebook, the text remains, but the photo has been removed. In addition, Facebook is blocking the ability to repost it. This is in league with past Facebook censorship of many people, including this author, regarding protests against police brutality in Ferguson and opposing the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza. This calls into ques...

Indybay Journalist Assaulted by Leon Panetta's Security at Bookshop Santa Cruz Event - by Alex Darocy
I was physically assaulted by a security agent who was working for former Secretary of Defense and CIA Director Leon Panetta at a speaking and book-signing engagement in Santa Cruz on November 10. The agent intentionally and deliberately grabbed my camera and hit me with it in the face when I was attempting to take a photo of Panetta leaving the event. I was approximately one foot away from him when he struck me. Top photo: The agent who assaulted me. (Photos of the protest will be published ...
