Today the FCC voted three to two to reclassify broadband Internet access as a common carrier service under Title II of the Communications Act, and forbear from the parts of the Act that aren’t necessary for net neutrality rules. This reclassification gives the FCC the authority to enact (and enforce) narrow, clear rules which will help keep the Internet the open platform it is today.

In a factual error even worse than those prevailing when Brad Kava was its editor, the online news website Santa Cruz Patch published an article on February 11 at 1:27 p.m. with the headline "Santa Cruz Wildfire Destroys 40 Homes". No such fire occurred in Santa Cruz, and at the time of publishing this report, the false information still has not been removed from the Santa Cruz Patch website.

Pacifica management have been unable to provide an audit of the finances of the foundation to the California Attorney General. Margy Wilkinson who is a supporter of the "Save KPFA" group fired Summer Reese and now is unable to provide financial information about the state of Pacifica. She is in cahoots with Brian Edward-Tiekert who is the host of KPFA Up Front and the Treasurer of Pacifica. He has discussed putting Pacifica in bankruptcy at board meetings.
