Tech Stands Up is a grassroots movement giving a voice to the rapidly growing concerns about the Trump administration's policies affecting the tech community and its users.

On March 14th -- Pi Day -- thousands of people in and around the tech community will rally to make a strong statement in support of the same values that drive Silicon Valley:

- The open exchange of ideas
- Community participation
- The idea that meritocracy is where the best ideas win regardless of status or power
- Experimentation and discovery to find the best possible solution

Come, be inspired by leaders in technology, non-profits, and organizations fighting every day. We will also be having tables set up so that you can connect to organizations to donate your skills and time.

Our goals are:

- Connect technologists to organizations, through hackathons, fundraising, mentoring programs, and donating skills/time;
- Work together with other organizations to bridge the divide between the tech industry and people that technology has disrupted.

We believe in creating a space that respects, empowers and includes all. We believe in standing up for the fundamental rights of all communities and persons. We believe in standing up for something, not simply against it.

This is intended to be a peaceful event. We will be working closely with the City of Palo Alto to ensure that everyone has a safe and inspiring day.
