KPFA Election: Vote Scott Olsen and the UCR 9
The KPFA governing board election has begun. You may get a paper ballot and/or an opportunity to vote on-line any day now. The people to vote for are aligned with the United For Community Radio Group. Rank the following as your # 1-11 choices: Scott Olson, Janet Kobren, Jeremy Miller, TM Scruggs, Marilla Arguelles, Virginia Browning, Sharon Adams, Don Macleay, and G. Mario Fernandez. United for Community Radio brings together the people fighting for more community participation and more coverage of our struggles on KPFA, especially the issues and advocates in our local area.
The KPFA Local Station Board (LSB) election is underway. If you're a KPFA listener member, you may have received your ballot or will get one within a few days. It's extremely important that you vote in this election.
Vote for all 9 of the "United for Community Radio" (UCR) candidates.
These candidates are committed to “RESCUE KPFA” from the current LSB majority and to strengthen and re-energize the station. The LSB majority (known as "Save KPFA"), has allowed the network to accumulate a multimillion dollar debt while squandering $600 thousand dollars of two recent bequests to KPFA.
We need new leadership at KPFA. Please rank the following United for Community Radio candidates as your # 1-9 choices: Scott Olson, Janet Kobren, Jeremy Miller, TM Scruggs, Marilla Arguelles, Virginia Browning, Sharon Adams, Don Macleay, G. Mario Fernandez, Tom Vorhees and Richard Hart.
By voting for the United for Community Radio (UCR) team you will help us to regain a majority of the seats on the Local Station Board. UCR candidates support: keeping the Pacifica network together, local community programming, non-mainstream alternative news, transparent budgeting and the recruitment of new listeners through live streaming and other forms of social media.
DON’T VOTE FOR Save KPFA candidates: Margy Wilkinson, Sasha Futran, Barbara Whipperman, David Lynch, William Campisi, Yuri Gottesman, Hilman Sorrey and Leland Thompson.
