Diversity Statement

by Bikash Poudel
Today’s modern teaching era, so many challenges and web of teaching methodologies has been encountered. None of the single methodologies can be best, so forth hybrid and versatile way of teaching is really demanded. Factors of diversity such as socioeconomic, Disability need, Gender need, diverse academic need, Sexual Orientation, Ethnicity and, cultural need possess challenges and issues for teaching. So, to encounter these all factors of challenges to the diversity; following strategies that I have been applied. Authority, or lecture style: Authority, or lecture style: Facilitator or coach style: Delegator or group style: Hybrid, or blended style: Active vs. Passive: Knowledge vs. information: Interactive classrooms: Teaching with multimedia tools. Constructive teaching methods: Conclusion: Regardless of what style a teacher adopts, it is important for teachers to develop positive attitudes, set goals and establish high expectations for students. All instructors, when developing their teaching styles, has to keep in mind these three goals (effective classroom management skills, lesson mastery) as well as the primary objective of education i.e. ‘Student learning’.
