Crisis in Ukraine:Prologue to World War III?
Presentation and Dialogue with Dr. George Wright, Political Science Professor Emeritus

The current political, economic, and military crisis in Ukraine, beginning in the fall of 2013, has been responsible for not only a civil war, but also a new Cold War between the United States/the European Union (the West) and Russia. Curiously, the ongoing geo-political situation between the West and Russia has an ominous similarity to the developments which led up to World War I and World War II. Does that mean that the geo-political crisis over Ukraine will eventually result in a World War?

Former Professor in the Department of Political Science at California State University, Chico, Dr. George Wright, will explain the internal situation in Ukraine, as well as the reasons for the new Cold War and its implications, including the prospects for World War III.

George Wright currently teaches at Skyline College. His publications include: The Destruction of a Nation: United States Policy towards Angola since 1945; “The Clinton Administration’s Policy Toward Angola: An Assessment,” Review of African Political Economy (2001); and “Globalization and International Sport,” New Political Economy (1999) and Olympic Review (1999). In 2005 he completed The Autobiography of Stan Wright: Forty Years in the “Good Old Boy” Network.
