Charlie Phillips was born on November 25, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee. Charlie passed away peacefully on July 4 and will be missed by his many friends and colleagues in Santa Cruz.

Charlie was a champion of the homeless and was deeply committed to creating a more just and compassionate world. He was a founding member of the Community Housing Land Trust of Santa Cruz County.
