Destruction At Berkeley's People's Park
The giant tree they felled yesterday was not sick. The tree trimming they performed will promote further desertification in the park and garden. In a drought this is a major concern. We are already on water restriction for our starts and vegetables. There is a gaping hole in the canopy in the northern section of the park. I've seen this happen all over the bay area. Its going to be a hot summer. Worse, they will continue to pick off trees and produce mulch, and destroy the garden, and promote urban garden/park desertification. The watershed will become a boiler and the rest of the neighborhood will soon worsen with the coming heat.
What can I say? Edward Snowden took a large neon orange fence that the arborists apparently installed to dissect the park in order to create divisiveness within localized socio-dynamic circles, removed it from its points of tie, and threw it into the empty lot across the street. After witnessing this I went to water the garden as I sometimes do. A UCPD officer accused me of taking the fencing down, and told me to bring it back into the park. I agreed that I would do so despite threat of arrest under the terms that that police officer would not pursue extradition charges against Edward Snowden.
