May Day Anti-Capitalist/Oakland 2 Baltimore March, 2015: photos

by Dave Id
May Day in Oakland began with the ILWU shutting down the port of Oakland in a show of support for the Black Lives Matter movement. A large morning march then headed to Oscar Grant plaza for an afternoon rally. The march began at about 8pm. The photos here pick up the march at roughly 9:30pm, running through 11pm when the dwindling group of marchers was temporarily kettled by police.

At least one other arrest was made shortly thereafter at Harrison and Thomas Berkley/20th Street as motorcycle police rushed marchers. Most scattered and got away into a darkened Snow Park.
