Workers And Community Speakout In SF For Workers Killed & Injured On The Job, Sewol Victims & Against TPP
Health and safety trade unionists and activists rallied on the San Francisco Embarcadero next to the Ferry Building and spoke out in defense of health and safety and for the protectio of OSHA whistleblowers. They also protested the Trans Pacific Partnership TPP and demanded justice for the families of the Korean Sewol Ferry disaster on April 16, 2014. Over 300 people were killed including over 250 young adults because of the lack of proper health and safety protection and corruption of the government agencies by the Ferry owner.
The participants walked to ILWU Local 34 hall where they spoke out on these issues and the need to fight for health and safety for workers and the community.

Michael Madry , is a former EMLab P&K TestAmerica Quality Assurance Manager and Health and Safety Coordinator for EMLab. He discusses why he became a OSHA whistleblower and his efforts to protect the testing accuracy for asbestos contamination tests after H.I.G. Capital took over TestAmerica and began to manipulate asbestos testing by using a computer game pad. The owners of H.I.G. Capital fomerly were with BAIN Capital and were also bundlers of funds to the Romney campaign. Michael Madry and another manager were retaliated against after seeking to protect the integrity of the asbestos tests and both went to OSHA which investigated and sustained the retaliation charges with a merit determination. His investigator OSHA lawyer Darrell Whitman was also retaliated against for giving them merit determinations as well as other OSHA whistleblowers. This interview was done on March 20, 2015.

Federal OSHA whistleblower and lawyer Darrell Whitman who has challenged corruption in the agency received support at a rally in front of the San Francisco Federal Building on February 27, 2015.
