California Public Records Requests are the RIGHT of the PUBLIC

by Joe Q. Public
I wanted to share some information about a Senate Bill ( SB 272) which has to do the public right's to access public information at little to no cost to private citizens. If this bill get's approved it will save money, paper and give the people access to information we have a right to ask for. If you don't have a computer you can go to a Library and access what costs you 25 cents a page for.
"With a public sector committed to success in the digital age, the residents and businesses of California will stand to benefit from the greater collaboration and integration, improved accountability, and increased productivity that will result.
Section 1. (a) New information technology has dramatically changed the way people search for and expect to find information in California.

Section 1. (b) This technology technology has unlocked great potential for government to better serve the people that it represents. A recent study estimated that digitizing government data could generate one trillion dollars in economic value worldwide through cost savings and improved operational performance.

So many things get lost in translation but this bill is easy to read.

Take a look and see you what you think.

I am happy that I appear to be human..because I am and so are you if you are reading this.
