Join the Sierra Club, Citizens Trade Campaign, Monterey Bay Labor Council, and 350 Santa Cruz for a forum about the environmental and labor impacts of the proposed Trans Pacific Partnership!

What is TPP?
Attempts are underway to fast-track secret trade negotiations between the United States and 11 other countries around the Pacific Rim in a proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement. Fast-track would eliminate congressional debate and all opportunity for amendments. This massive "NAFTA on steroids" trade deal would weaken our environmental protections, open the floodgates to more fracking, move more jobs offshore, increase trade in endangered species' body parts, and empower corporations to attack climate policies in secret trade tribunals.

Many labor rights, human rights, environmental conservation groups and others are united in their position against fast-tracking this international trade deal.

Since negotiations have been behind closed doors, we're depending on environmental and labor champions in Congress to stand up for us. Unfortunately, some key leaders in both parties are supporting "fast track" legislation that would rush the TPP through Congress without any meaningful oversight.

Even here in Santa Cruz County, our Congressional Representative Sam Farr has come out in support of Fast-Track legislation for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Join us in taking action to tell him we do not support fast tracking of the TPP!
