Why "Democracy Now" Refused to Interview Me on the 50th Ann of Assassination of Malcom X

by Roland Sheppard
Amy Goodman's Democracy Now has refused to interview a trade unionist and Marxist Roland Sheppard who was at the auditorium when Malcom X was assassinated.

I published my essay, Why the Government Assassinated Malcolm X And Martin Luther King Jr., in preparation for the 50th Anniversary of Malcolm X’s Assassination.

After the esaay was published, I had sent a complementary copy to Democracy Now. They did not respond to my correspondence. So I sent the following message to Democracy Now Group on Facebook, after the my interview with the New York Daily News was published, just before the anniversary of the assassination.:
“The Daily News interviewed me, since I am one of the few people alive who were in the Audubon Ballroom when Malcolm X was assassinated fifty years ago. The liberal Democrscy Now! Still has not interviewed me to this date. http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/convinced-government-behind-malcolm-x-assassination-article-1.2115770
To which there came this reply:
“ Democracy Now!
Hi Roland, Thank you very much for being in touch. Can you send me your email and/or phone number that I can pass along to our news producers?”
Best, Jessica social media team”
I then sent the requested information to Democracy Now!
I then got the following reply
“Democracy Now!
Thank you. I've passed along your information and they will be in touch if they are interested. Many thanks again for reaching out.”
It seems that the New York Daily News considered me ‘newswothy’, but the news producers of Democracy Now deemed me not newsworthy. Even though I was an eyewitness to the assassination. And I identify William Bradely as the assassin:
One April 30, 2010, I received an email from John Judge, the Director of the Coalition on Political Assassinations, referring to an April 22, 2010 article titled: For The First Time in History, The Face of William Bradley; Shotgun Assassin of Malcolm X-El Hajj Malik El Shabazz, In a Public Safety Campaign Commerial for Mayor Cory Booker!.

William Bradley
" In that article is the picture shown of William Bradley, who is the man that I had seen in the Audubon Ballroom and in the photos that the police just shown to me, while I was being interrogated by the Harlem police. And whom I saw coming out of the men’s room walking by me, past the desks of the secretarial pool, and who then went to his office inside the police station, as I was going to the men’s room! As I wrote in my original 2009 essay: “At that point I knew that he and the government either killed Malcolm X or were part of the assassination plot.”
"William Bradley is the man that Talmadge Hayer identified as the one who shot the shotgun. Zak Kondo also identified William Bradley as the assassin with the shotgun." (As did Manny Marabel in his book, Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention, which I consider to be a 2001assassination of Malcolm X.)
Since the news producers of Democracy Now are NPR (National PetroleumRadio) and PBS (Petroleum Broadcasting Service) I was not surprised that I was of no interest to them
Amy Goodman interviewed Manning Marable, for he kept the official line that the Nation of Islam assassinated Malcolm X and denied the political evolvement of Malcolm X, in his last year.
Democracy Now! refused to interview me, for I prove and explain how and why the government assassinated Malcolm X, in my essay!

"If there is no struggle there is no progress.
Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation -- want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. . . . Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."-- Frederick Douglass, 1857
