Join us in welcoming members of Frente Amplio de Comunidades Marginadas del Estado de Oaxaca to the South Bay!

Frente Amplio de Comunidades Marginadas del Estado de Oaxaca (FACMEO) is a peoples’ organization based in Oaxaca, Mexico which advocates against the forced disappearances, kidnappings and incarceration of political activists. They will be in the Bay Area to discuss the current status of their movement work and to share the urgency to free all political prisoners from the U.S. and abroad.

The FACMEO is currently fighting for the release of political prisoners who are leading members of their organization as well as other mass organizations such as CNTE, Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación/National Coordinator of Workers in Education, and APPO, Asamblea Popular de los Pueblos de Oaxaca/Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca.

“These are five educators and social activists that were detained, disappeared, and tortured. Currently, they are held unjustly in a maximum security prison in Puente Grande, Jalisco and Tepic Nayarit, all accused of false charges. We demand their immediate and unconditional release as well as all of the political prisoners of the country.” - FACMEO

Translations, activities for children and food will be provided.
