The Renter Nation - Homes for All.org, 27pp
Housing as a human right is often subverted by the "right" to speculate. In Switzerland and the US, sharks are defended against sardines in business as usual. Housing is a creative challenge since unlike clams we are not born with built-in housing (cf. Arnold Kunzli, Housing as a Human Right, 2003, http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2003/06/266635.shtml).
Here's a 27-page Housing for All pamphlet with a proposed Renters' Bill of Rights. I look forward to your comments and to a future of generalized security, reduced working hours, labor-oriented investment, person-oriented work, community centers, cloud-workers, exchanging roles and redefining work, security, health, strength and happiness. Time for alternative economics after the credit-bubble phase and the money-out-of-thin air speculation. The financial sector should be shriveled and the public sector expanded. Enough can replace more as access can replace excess. Jobs in education cost 1/10 jobs in a capital intensive industry like chemical dyes or endless pipelines. Unlike a chair, an idea can be shared by a whole people. Long live alternatives!
