Stop CitiGroup Corruption

On 1/21/15, the 5th anniversary of the infamous Citizen's United supreme court decision, 7 brave 99Rise activists stood up in the Supreme Court chambers and spoke with the voice of the people who overwhelmingly demand repeal of this democracy-killing decision. At the same time, 99Rise activists in LA were holding Citigroup, one of the most egregious offenders of the global economic crisis and one of the most egregious corporate exploiters of our corrupt system, accountable with the demand "Citigroup, stop buying our government!"

On Tuesday 1/27 at 4:30 PM, the 99Rise Bay Area team will follow in the footsteps of our brave sisters and brothers from around the country to demand, simply:

"Citigroup, take the lead- don't be complicit in corruption: Give the people back our government!"

We will bring a large "check" representing the millions that Citigroup has spent to buy OUR legislature during the 2014 election cycle, and demand a meeting to give the money back and demand that Citigroup give us back our legislature and our government. We will not leave until our demand is met.

We are looking for folks to join us in risking arrest, but also to support us by taking photos, getting images out on social media, chanting with us, whatever. Just be there.
