Discrepencies in Health Care

by Monica Bejarano
The Affordable Care Act that began in 2010, has created a reform that has helped many people in the United States to sign up for Health Insurance. But, in reality there are loopholes that were found through the four years it has existed.
Health care in the United States has tried to reach unrealistic goals with promises that leave people feeling hopeless and in the dark. The Affordable Care Act that was implemented in March 2010, is known to no longer deny or limit children under 19 years old to a pre-existing condition. The new plan aim to provide better ways to get access to affordable healthcare coverage and give more options for receiving quality medical care. Although, there are not very many issues with citizens who receive quality medical care there are undocumented citizens that are not granted any coverage through the Affordable Care Act. They are left in the dark and unable to receive the same medical attention as those who are citizens in the United States yet, undocumented citizens have to pay their taxes just as much as everyone else. The process to apply for the Affordable Care Act is difficult and a much longer process. It is unjust for those who put their part into our government by paying taxes, but do not receive Health Care just like everyone else has the freedom to access. We reject the human rights based on income and because there are citizens from a different country we deny them their rights to have medical care at the quality that is necessary.
