Affordable Care Act in Sonoma County

by Michael Nicholas
A brief look into how the Affordable Care Act is being received in Sonoma County and Why Republicans need to stop resenting the act.
Good health is the most reassuring quality one can have in life. A healthy mind and body are capable of amazing things, and allow mankind to evolve and create. Quality healthcare is a major contributing factor in the quest for great health, see without access to proper healthcare an individual simply cannot be the very best version of themselves. Wether living with an illness or having a worried mind about getting sick and the treatment options available to you, there simply is no room in the human psyche for it. Cue music, the Affordable Healthcare Act rolls in, a simple plan at the heart of it all, provide quality healthcare at a reasonable price and hold insurance companies responsible for fair access to care. Now more than ever millions of americans who before had no option to receive care can be treated and taken care of. Millions more can now more easily afford healthcare options thus relieving stress from their minds.

Now I as well as any relevant american who has access to a television knows the resentment and hatred for ‘Obamacare’ just as much as the next guy. Republicans resent the act solely because of a longstanding tradition of counteracting anything your opposing party plans to later glorify themselves on national television. And even some fellow Democrats resent the idea due to its heavy cost that is it relying on the law abiding tax paying citizens to pay for. To me and I am surely not alone this boils down to a simple conflict of money vs health. Now have we really turned into a society so worried about capital that we could negate the health of our own citizens? Sadly yes, we as americans are living in a corrupted version of a capitalist system that has bred us into money fiends that will accept almost any circumstances or discomfort if their is money involved. So I say we change that, stop the hate on the Affordable Care Act and support it, after all we are talking about the lives and well being of our fellow man.
