NEW PODCAST!!!- feed://http://www.outfarpress.com/podcast.xml (128kb Highest Quality)

This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, the Voice of Russia, Radio Deutsche-Welle, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From JAPAN- There are new delays in the timetable for decommissioning the devastated Fukushima nuclear power plant- the new estimate is in 30-40 years. An update on the Hong Kong Occupy protest, where protestors want to talk to the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. Chinese police have detained citizens who have shown support for the protestors in Hong Kong.
From RUSSIA- A report from Parliament Square in London where Occupy protestors have been staging a week long demonstration against the monopoly held by the three main political parties, the Conservatives, Labor, and the Liberal Democrats- these parties are accused of only representing big business and the wealthy.
From GERMANY- In Italy, hundreds of thousands of citizens demonstrated in Rome against the government's labor reforms. Dilma Rousseff was reelected President of Brazil by a narrow margin. Pro-western parties in Ukraine won in Parliamentary elections- there were no polls held in Crimea or eastern Ukraine. Following attacks on the Sinai peninsula, Egyptian authorities are demolishing all homes along the eastern border to stop weapons being trafficked to Palestinians. The first Iraqi Kurdish fighters arrived in Turkey on their way to fight in the Syrian town of Kobane, while US forces continued to bomb the area.
From CUBA- For the 23rd year in a row, the vast majority of the international community at the UN voted to reject the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade of Cuba. Delegates from 100 countries are meeting in Copenhagen to approve a new report on the effects of climate change. A Palestinian-American teenager was shot to death by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. The UN security Council is holding an emergency meeting on Israeli plans to build more illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian lands. Russian President Putin says the US promotes terrorism by financing terrorists and creating division between nations. The US has carried out another drone strike in Yemen killing at least a dozen people.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via < http://www.kzyx.org >

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)

"One can imagine a sane, healthy, cheerful human society based on no more than the principals of common sense, as validated each day by work, play, and living experience. But this remains the most utopian and fantastic of ideals."
-- Edward Abbey
