New Humanitarian Crisis in Progress in Northern Syria

Islamic state is advancing on the northern Syrian area known as Rojava. Rojava is being defended by the YPG (People's Defense Units) a social revolutionary militia, but these just announced that they are being overwhelmed by the islamists (captured US) firepower. It is an extremely dire situation.

Turkey initially attacked refuguees trying to escape the fighting (see photos) but apparently has opened the border since then, though two Kurdish civilians fleeing the fighting were shot by Turkish soldiers at the border.
