Is Syria-Iraq group really a Caliphate?

Top religious leaders of Egypt say faction in Syria-Iraq is NOT an "Islamic State";
and ask world media to stop using that title.

The Dar el-Ifta, the top Islamic religious authority in Egypt,
says the extremists in Syria
don't deserve to be called "Islamic State".

The Dar el-Ifta, overseen by the Grand Mufti of Egypt,
suggests calling that group
"al-Qaeda
Separatists in
Iraq and
Syria"
[ QSIS].

In the opinion of the Dar el-Ifta,
the Syria/Iraq extremists
are NOT Islamic,
NOT a state,
and certainly NOT a caliphate.
