Class Cancelations at City College!
On Monday August 25, 2014 students gathered in RAM plaza to make their voices heard over the fact that vital classes are getting canceled.
Students were taking their petitions to Cloud Hall, but they were stopped by Susan Lamb, who is the Chancellor of Academic Affairs.
Lamb talked with the students and explained "the only classes getting canceled are ones' with low attendance." She also stated the contract City College has with teacher union AFT 2121 states they can technically cancel classes that have less than 20 students.
The students then collectively responded with the question. "What happened to the stabilization money that was supposed to keep classes open?"
Lamb responded by saying that money is being spent appropriately. The students have their doubts. Because Susan Lamb, along with 2 other staff are being paid 10% higher than the highest salary. In other words she is earning over $200,000 a year in salary.
