Looking to connect with families of female victims of urban/gun violence in Oakland.

Looking to connect with families of female victims of urban/gun violence in Oakland. This is a call to action through art. The city of Oakland has a plethora or public art, installations and illustrations, but little to illustrate the violence women face in urban areas like Oakland. Violence against women has to stop, we need to talk about it, we cannot ignore it. One of the best ways to get a conversation started is through visibility, and one of the best ways to do that is through art. We are organizing to create a mural to inspire ongoing awareness around violence against women/gender based violence and its effect on families/communities. Stories will be used to inspire the murals content/depictions and images of loved ones may be used (with permission) within the mural. Please sen an email with your name and contact info, we would like to honor her life and her story!
