This is a transparent attempt to divide KPFA along racial lines by a couple of white guys who don't get it. The Morning Mix is majority white, majority male.

The hosts have been given new times for their programs, so that an immigrant woman of color, Sonali Kolkathar, can broadcast at 8am. Unlike them, she's enormously popular, having raised huge sums when KPFA's parched listeners heard her last week during the fund drive.

Why didn't the Morning Mix hosts protest back in 2010 when several women of color were laid off so they could have their shows? These statements always reek of self importance. This is not the bay area progressive movement at its best. It's just a bunch of arrogant guys who want their airtime.

This is a manager at KPFA and an apologist for the status quo. He should be embarrassed. What a load of crap. The onyl show that left KPFA's air in 2010 was the AM morning show and there was only one woman of color (partially) who did: Aimee Allison. It was unfortunate but she was the very bottom person on a union seniority list at a radio station that had lost $1.2 million dollars in two years. To racebait about an obviously seniority-based decision is lame. The other employee of color, Esther Manilla, left voluntarily and then sued for sexual harassment from 2005 and won a $125,00 nuisance settlement. Who are these other women of color and these other shows, Luis?

As for the rest of this idiocy, Sabrina Jacobs is a woman of color. Davey D doesn't need more program hours, he already has a show. Abdres Soto is a much-loved and effective organizer and also of color. Project Censored are two of the most radical and subversive media critics in the world and much-loved by generations of college students they taught how to think about the media. Project Censored has changed media literacy forever. Only a philistine sees "two white guys" instead of two creative, radical educators and revoluntionary.

You're pathetic man.

You really think a wealthy Dubai magnate's daughter is the voice of the people?

That's a joke, Luis. A joke on you.
