Want to end poverty? Brazil's answer: Give people money

by Howard Schneider
Though controversial, the government a decade ago decided that any family under the poverty line would be given enough money to put them over it.
The transfers, which now go to 14 million people, has helped decrease income inequality in the country – incomes for the poorest are growing faster than Brazil’s top earners.
Want to end poverty? Brazil’s answer: Give people money

Here is a brilliant idea for how to help poor people: give them money. Specifically, give them enough money to end their poverty.
This is from Brazil’s social development minister Tereza Campello, who was in Washington this week discussing the country’s first decade of experience under the highly-touted Bolsa Familia cash transfer program.
It’s a discussion relevant to the U.S., involving a simple social contract that hands over cash – with no strings attached on how it is spent or who is considered part of a family – as long as any kids involved attend school.
Brazil confronted a similar political landscape when it began discussing a broad assault on poverty more than a decade ago. The poor were predominantly black, clustered in the north, and uneducated. There were strong arguments that simply giving away money would be a massive rip-off for taxpayers.
Plunged into the usual moral thicket, the response was simple: forget about all that. Though controversial, the government a decade ago decided that any family under the poverty line would be given enough money to put them over it.
The transfers, which now go to 14 million people, has helped decrease income inequality in the country – incomes for the poorest are growing faster than Brazil’s top earners.

We ought to recognize that the workers are not a cost of production, but rather the new value added each and every year. The workers are the true majority in every country each and every year. That means they should have first claim on the value added by-- to each according to their ability to each according to their needs, and that the society should-- by the elected governance then have the second claim, while the paper shuffling stockholders the third and last claim.

Marxism is a science that proves prosperity would thereby be brought about, and all citizens provided with a living wage.

However if the societies throughout the world would simply dismantle the WMD--weapons of mass destruction, thusly releasing trillions of dollars now going for destruction of the means of production and distribution, because they cause pollution of the air, land, and water, and the poisoning of the plants and animals and peoples.

The world would be able to change from means of destruction, whlle freeing millions of armed forces to work for union wages to re-tool the main means of production and distribution, to the renewables such as wind, tidal, and solar power, and dismantling the first industrial revolution motivated by coal, gas, oil, and atomic energy.

That would be liberation forever from aggressive wars and pollution of the globe, such as now wiith 40% of the world's oxygen already burned out to carbon-dioxide which we cannot live on.

Aggressively waring for more and more coal and oil such as moutain top removal, and fracking or processing such humungas tar sands oil found in Alberta Canada which will only move to more depletion of the remaing 60% of oxygen, and folks we cannot thrive without oxygen.

The signal is that when the workers take over the central banks, and distribute the money according to need, they will cease to fund fossil fuels and thereafter fund the renewables, such as wind, tidal, and solar power that transforms to electricity and is more power than all societies can use.

We the peoples can then begin the processes of seeing to freeing the entire planet on such communal theories as according to need all will be free and liberation side will be able to triumph in an era of peace forever.

Workers of the world unite!! End pollution wars, not endless wars for more and more pollution. You yet have a world to win!!
