November 2014 ballot measure threatens California's trans-kids

by Skweakee SUN (savefreedom-owner [at] yahoogroups.com)
California's November 2014 ballot may include a proposal to repeal AB 1266,
which protects transgender kids in public schools.
Should our 2014 PRIDE celebrations, in California,
include massive [NON-partisan] drives to register voters?

Political commentary by SUN:

Reactionary "anti-trans activists" hope to repeal California's new law, called AB 1266,
which protects the rights of transgender youth
who are students in our public schools [ Bay Area Reporter, 14 Nov. 2013].

Their "Privacy for All Students" coalition needed to gather 504,760 VALID signatures by Nov. 10, in order to put a referendum against Assembly Bill 1266 on the November 2014 ballot.
In several weeks,we'll learn whether they met this requirement.

SUN urges voters to save AB 1266!

This will require much effort and unity from the various LGBTQI communities
and from our allies.

Perhaps our 2014 Pride celebrations, in various California cities and counties,
should feature massive [ NON-partisan]
voter-registration drives?
