Blood On Their Hands-BART Managers, Bosses & Board Kill 2 Workers Who Crossed Strike Line

by Labor Video Project
BART managers, executives and the BART board of directors allowed untrained workers to run trains killing two workers who had crossed the picket line. There is a long record of violating OSHA rules and using public funds to stop stronger health and safety on the railway.

BART managers and bosses despite being warned that they should not operate trains during a strike by SEIU 1021 and ATU 1555 along with the support of AFSCME 3993 operated trains without properly trained personal and killed two who had crossed the line. One worker at a BART Board of Directors meeting pointed out that these rules were made in blood to protect the workers after previous deaths and injuries.
The management and BART board of directors is also fighting a CA OSHA determination that they violated previous health and safety rules that led to the death of a worker on the rails two years two years ago. They have spent over $300,000 fighting Ca-OSHA citations after the death of this worker in the same area where the new deaths took place.
This criminal negligence and malfeasance along with their union busting attacks have a long history at BART and have led to the deaths on the tracks.

§ATU 1555 Members Picketing Over Safety Issues
by Labor Video Project

The BART workers including ATU 1555 members have protested the flagrant violations of health and safety rules and the reckless and dangerous conditions that they face on the job. BART Management and the BART Board of Directors have fought CA-OSHA citations using hundreds of thousands of dollars for outside lawyers while cutting back on safety inspectors and protection for workers and the public.

Excellent video. Whenever your employer promotes the Big Family lie, just remind them that the Labor Code governs the job, not the Family Code. The employer will never bother you again. I loved the part about the dip in the track being a lie as it existed for a long time already, so clearly everyone there was involved in training scabs. Then, along comes Democrat Obama's National Safety Inspector to tell the camera that the strike is secondary, when it was the reason for the whole operation, and they came too late to test for alcohol and drugs. This was all after Democrat Gov Jerry Brown's 60 day anti-strike injunction, and of course, the whole union-busting operation, complete with the hiring of a $400,000 strike breaker, Tom Hock, and his Veolia transportation scab buses, was done by a mostly Democratic Party elected BART board, all paid for with our tax dollars.
