On today’s show, we’ll continue with our fall tradition with a “back to school” special focused on struggles around education. We’ll start off the show with an interview with members of ClassRoom Struggle, a local group of Oakland teachers, parents, substitute teachers, after school instructors, youth workers and community activists, organizing to transform public education. From there we’ll shift our focus to the teachers movement in Mexico, which recently marked the 45th anniversary of the massacre of students at Tlatelolco on October 2, 1968. We’ll also hear a story from Don Durito de la Selva Lacandona, and a bunch of great music.
